RETINA

The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science diagnoses and manages retina disease through the use of state-of-the-art equipment such as digital fundus photography, flourescein angiography and optical coherence tomography for retina imaging. Ophthalmologists use laser treatment, intravitreal injections and retina surgery as part of our comprehensive care for children and adults with retina/vitreous disease.

Our retina specialists evaluate and treat:

    Bullet   Age-related Macular Degeneration

    Bullet   Diabetic Retinopathy

    Bullet   Macular Dystrophies, Holes, Pucker

Bullet   Retinal Tears and Detachment, Retinal Degenerations

Bullet   Systemic Disease with retinal manifestations

    Bullet   Retinal vascular disease

The inner lining in the back of the eye, the retina, works like the film in a camera and is largely responsible for vision. Retina disease can result in blindness and low vision which is devastating for patients experiencing this type of eye disease. We strive to stay at the cutting edge of retina research and treatment and to treat each patient with respect and dignity, taking extra time for personal care so as to achieve the best outcome possible for each individual.
