Joseph M. Miller, MD, MPH
Professor and Head Professor As a board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Miller specializes in medical and surgical management of refractive error, pediatric ophthalmology, and adult strabismus. His research focuses on ophthalmic optics and the effect of refractive error on visual development. He is the principal investigator of a project sponsored by the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Miller received his training in ophthalmology at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. He completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. More recently, Dr. Miller completed a fellowship in refractive surgery with Robert W. Snyder, MD, PhD, here at the University of Arizona. Dr. Miller joined The University Physicians in 1991 and holds a joint appointment in the Optical Sciences Center at the University of Arizona. Dr. Miller is a member of the hospital staff of University Medical Center, Tucson Medical Center, Kino Community Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospital. He is a staff member of Children's Clinics of Rehabilitative Services and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic, and is a volunteer consultant to the Indian Health Service Sells Service Unit. Dr. Miller is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. |
